Da Ma Cai Supports Education, Provides Revision Books Worth RM449,124 To Primary School Students In Klang Valley

Da Ma Cai continues to stay true to its goal of contributing to the communities it operates in with the rollout of the annual Student Aid 2013 programme. Da Ma Cai and Selling Agents have once again extend a helping hand to needy school children to help them excel in the new 2014 school year. This initiative is part of Da Ma Cai’s corporate social responsibility efforts to enhance the level of education in Malaysia.

As part of this nationwide programme, a total of 4,380 students from 146 schools in the Klang Valley will receive reference books worth RM449,124. The students will each receive a set of 10 revision books with various subjects in preparation for their upcoming Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) in 2014.

A presentation ceremony was held today at SJK (C) Naam Kheung where 810 students from 27 schools received the revision books as part of this year’s Student Aid allocation. Similar events will be held in various parts of the State to distribute the revision books to the remaining recipients.

There will be 10,290 students from 354 schools benefitting from the Student Aid 2013 programme. In total, contributions from Da Ma Cai and its Selling Agents will amount to RM1,069,062.This year’s recipients include students from Klang Valley, Johor, Perak, Penang, Kedah, Perlis, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan and Pahang.

Mr. Si Swee Teck, Kuala Lumpur Senior Regional Manager of Pan Malaysian Pools (PMP) said, “The Student Aid programme is aimed at helping deserving students, and by providing them with the UPSR revision books, these students will be better prepared and excel in their crucial academic year ahead.”

Under this programme, schools are nominated by the Da Ma Cai Selling Agents in their respective local communities. The schools will then select 30 Primary 5 deserving students, particularly those from lower income families who will each receive the aid.

Mr. Si added, “The Student Aid 2013 programme represents the 23rd consecutive year that this community outreach project has been organised. This reflects our commitment towards the field of education in our ongoing CSR initiatives.”
